About Gene

Dr. Gene Gates has provided pediatric care in Rexburg for the last 30 years. He and his wife are originally from Louisiana, where he received his education, training, and enjoyed his early years of practice in pediatrics and neonatology. He completed a B.S. in Microbiology at LSU, received his medical degree at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans, and did a straight pediatric residency and neonatal fellowship at Charity Hospital, New Orleans on the LSU service.

He is board-certified in pediatrics. He then moved to Monroe, La., his home town, and practiced as a neonatologist there for 10 years, followed by 4 years of general pediatric practice. After that, he and his wife and two children moved to Rexburg, where he has lived since that time. He enjoys caring for kids and interacting with them and their families.

His goal is to provide the best care and service possible to the families he encounters and serves in Rexburg. He enjoys working with his fellow associates at Rexburg Pediatrics.
